British Airways are desperate for cash so they’re having a sale. It isn’t your everyday sale though, it applies only to Avios bookings. 50% fewer Avios required for all long haul flights in any class. Now, you do have to book by midnight 13th October 2020 and fly by 30th June 2021, but, if your flight gets cancelled you can push it back to a later time or get a refund. If you decide you don’t want to travel, you can either get a voucher or lose the £35 booking fee and get your cash and Avios back.
Why First Class?

Due to the way BA operate, they charge a fair whack in “Carrier Imposed Surcharges” for you to be able to redeem your Avios. This means the only good instance to use Avios for bookings is on long haul first-class tickets which would normally cost you £0000’s.
Where You Can Go
Below is a list of all BA First Class routes with how many Avios required EACH WAY in either peak or off-peak. Any other day of the week, you would have to double these for the return price. As it’s 50% cheaper the Avios you see each way will cover you for the round trip. Also, you can double down and use an American Express 2-4-1 Voucher 2 of you can go round trip for the price of 1 one-way.
